Types, purposes and functioning of the cookies
Cookies, depending on their degree of permanence, can be divided into session and permanent cookies. The former expire when the user closes the browser. The latter expire when the objective for which they are used is achieved or when they are manually deleted.
In addition, depending on their purpose, cookies can be classified as follows:
PERFORMANCE COOKIES: These types of cookies remember your preferences for the tools to be found in the services, as a result of which you don’t have to reconfigure the service every time you visit it. By way of example, this type includes:
Volume settings of video and sound players.
Video transmission speeds compatible with your browser.
Items stored in the “shopping carts” of e-commerce services such as shops.
GEOLOCATION COOKIES: These cookies are used to identify which country you are in when you request a service. They are completely anonymous and are only used to help to guide the content to your location.
REGISTRATION COOKIES: Registration cookies are generated once you have registered or subsequently logged in and they are used to identify you in the services for the following purposes:
To keep you identified so that, if a service closes, the browser or computer will continue to identify you if you enter the service again at another time or on another day, thus allowing you to browse without having to re-identify yourself. This feature may be suppressed if you click on “log out”, thus deleting the cookie, and the next time you enter the service you will have to log in to be identified.
To check whether you are authorized to access certain services, such as entering a competition.
In addition, some services may use connectors with social media such as Facebook and Twitter. When you register with a service with the credentials of a social network, it authorizes the social network to retain a permanent cookie to remember your identity and guarantee access to the services until it expires. You can delete this cookie and deny access to the services via social media by updating your preferences on the social network in question.
ANALYTICAL COOKIES: Each time you visit a service, a tool supplied by an external provider (Omniture, Netscope or Comscore or any similar ones that may be added to this list to complement the former) generates an analytical cookie on your computer. This cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will be used to anonymously identify visitors to the website. The main objectives of the above include:
Permitting anonymous identification of users by means of the cookie (it identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore an approximate calculation of the number of visitors and any trends over time.
Anonymously identifying the most popular contents and, therefore, those most attractive to users.
Ascertaining whether the user is accessing the service for the first time or visiting it again.
ADVERTISING COOKIES: These types of cookies can expand the information in the adverts displayed to each anonymous user. Among other features, they store the length and frequency of the viewing of advertising positions, any interaction with them and the user’s browsing and/or behavioural patterns, as they can help to shape a profile for advertising purposes. They can thus offer advertising related to your interests.
THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING COOKIES: In addition to advertising managed by the website, SEG-B S.L. provides its advertisers with the option of using third-party adverts (Ad-Servers). These third parties can thus store cookies sent from users’ browsers and access the data stored in them.
The companies that generate these cookies have their own privacy policies. SEG-B frequently uses the Doubleclick (Google) platform to manage these services. For further information, go to http://www.google.es/policies/privacy/ads/#toc-doubleclick or http://www.google.es/policies/privacy/ads/.
Cookies can be deleted, accepted or blocked, as you prefer. To do so, you just have to configure your web browser appropriately.
You can prevent (block) the installation of cookies on your computer by means of the corresponding option on your browser at any time but, in such a case, we cannot ensure the proper functioning of the different features of the website.
The links for managing and blocking cookies are listed below, depending on the browser you use:
You can also delete the cookies stored on your browser by going to its settings.
